Hayward High School
Located on the East side of Hayward, Hayward High School has in excess of 2,100 students matriculating in grades 9-12. Twenty-nine percent of RMI mentees attend Hayward High School.
Over the past year, standardized test scores of Hayward High School students increased. In addition, the school received a full, six-year accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC) with special acknowledgements for the curriculum, educational programs, bridge programs, school activities and parental involvement.
Mt. Eden High School
Located on the West side of Hayward, Mt. Eden High School has in excess of 2,300 students enrolled in grades 9-12. Twenty-six percent of RMI mentees attend Mt. Eden High School.
Despite challenges, last year Mt. Eden’s Academic Achievement Index exceeded the target established by the state. California High School Exit Exam scores continue to increase in both math and language arts.
Tennyson High School
Located in Central Hayward, Tennyson High School has approximately 1,800 students matriculating in grades 9-12. Forty-five percent of RMI mentees attend Tennyson High School.
To provide students with the time needed to pass classes and do well on the state and national tests, last year Tennyson High School offered a six-period day. This resulted in a 52-point gain on the state Academic Performance Index (API) and the achievement of their federal Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) goal. Even with this more challenging course load, more students took and passed Advanced Placement (AP) tests with scores of 3, 4 or 5.
